Clackamas River Rafting Guided Trips River Description / Natural History |
The Upper Clackamas River, a superb whitewater waterway, is located about an hour from downtown Portland, just southeast of the town of Estacada. The Clackamas offers scenic cliffs and steep, fir-mantled canyon walls. More than twenty miles of outstanding whitewater are found here, where the river cuts deeply into hard formations of volcanic andesite and basalt. This is the place for Portland Oregon rafting!
Commercially guided Clackamas trips are available on throughout the spring and summer. These trips are very convenient full day or half-day trips, and are ideal for experienced river enthusiasts, first-timers, families and independent travelers. We invite you to visit the Destination Wilderness website for more information on the Clackamas and other Oregon rafting trips. River flows for rafting are generally higher in the spring and early summer and offer greater challenge and excitement. As summer advances the river flows level out and offer fantastic family whitewater rafting adventures for all ages and levels of experience.
